|Description=A 95 ton Clan Mech rediscovered by Clan Star Adder, the Warthog is capable of mounting a number of different class heavy weapons, including [[ERPPC]]s, [[Gauss Rifle]]s, and large bore [[Autocannon]]s.
|Strengths=An impressive top speed, coupled with its squat stance and [[ECM]] capability enable the Warthog to deploy quickly and stealthily. Extremely valuable when used as a rapid reaction unit to counter enemy infiltration. It can easily overpower the lighter units which are usually the first to penetrate defenses, preventing serious compromise of defensive perimeters. [[Enhanced Optics]] contribute to its long range capability and its low profile is often used to advantage by skilled pilots. Its balanced weapons slots are logically placed and well distributed for long term survivability. The center torso carries no weaponry and the left and right torsos only carry 2 missile slots each. |Weaknesses=Its unusually wide torso is easily targeted and makes maneuvering in tight confines difficult, if it can be drawn into these areas its lack of agility can be used against it. Targeting the arms will remove the bulk of its offensive firepower. Missiles are more effective against those units equipped with [[ECM]], if it can be detected at range. Commonly configured with a heavy compliment of energy weapons, heat weapons provide an effective counter in these cases. Head shots are extremely difficult and seldom worth the risk and effort as the Warthog's counter fire can be deadly accurate. However, any pilot who wishes to try his luck at precision shooting should aim at the small, inverted keystone shape directly above what appears to be the cockpit area, located high on the center torso directly between the torso mounted missile racks.<ref>[http://trm.mektek.net/index_mechs.htm MechWarrior4 - Technical Reference Manual]</ref>

|Notes=The Warthog originally existed only as a Photoshopped image of a Longbow torso with Warhawk arms and legs. Jehosephat2k, a lead dev of the MekPaks, did so purely on a lark, and originally didn't intend to make a playable 'Mech out of it. However, the knee-jerk outcry *against* this random image was so overblown and so vitriolic that he changed his mind and decided to produce this FrankenMech anyway, purely to spite the loudest negative voices.

During the MekPak 2 beta, the Warthog was for some time armed with four 3-slot ballistic mounts, often leading to quad-Gauss or quad-LBX20 loadouts. After considerable testing and internal debate, the slots were changed to their current configuration.
