Able to mount a large number of lasers for its small size, it is well known for getting in close to its foe to make use of [[Heavy Laser]]s it frequently carries. |Strengths=While most [[light]] mechs will require a significant sacrifice to carry heavy weaponry, the Solitaire is not one of these. By concentrating on one heavy weapon, it retains all of its highest mobility ratings, full electronics support and effective armor allocation. The Energy Pod can carry a single [[Heavy Large Laser]], [[ERPPC]] or [[Assault Laser]] while still maintaining its excellent speed and agility. With [[BAP]] and [[Advanced Optics]] configured, the electronics support is well suited towards long range acquisition and targeting of enemy forces. Its turn rate is also remarkable, and when combined with its speed and firepower, this creates a capable harasser that is impossible to ignore. While lacking jump capacity, its speed will allow it to use forward momentum to climb to surprising heights. The Solitaire is extremely valuable as a force multiplier, deploying to unexpected or lightly defended areas and disrupting enemy operations while dealing significant damage.<ref>[http://trm.mektek.net/index_mechs.htm MechWarrior4 - Technical Reference Manual]</ref> |Weaknesses=While capable of carrying an excellent primary weapon, this is accomplished through not configuring secondary armament and by removing armor from the arms. In these cases, targeting the arms is irrelevant, and fire should be directed at the Energy Pod. Removal of the prominent Pod will often result in an enemy unit with no offensive capacity, at which point it should be ignored. It cannot be configured with 2 [[ER Large Laser]]s without a significant performance, or equipment sacrifice. [[BAP]] will make the unit more vulnerable to missile lock as well, but its high speed will often permit it to evade many of these. Its lack of jump capacity does not permit pop up attacks and the unit must expose itself to fire its primary weapon, it is at this point that the Energy Pod should be targeted.
