|Description=The Longbow is an assault Mech designed to be a missile platform. Capable of mounting a dizzying number of [[LRM]]s, the Longbow is a prime candidate for support roles in large engagements.
|Strengths=Deployed to rear areas, it makes an exceptional fire support or area denial weapon system, especially when configured with the available [[BAP]]. It is the only Mech capable of mounting four 3-slot missile weapons such as the Arrow IV or Artemis-LRM20. Some defensive armament in the form of energy weapons should be considered, as the Longbow lacks the overall speed and agility to evade pursuit. Its top speed is impressive and can be tactically useful in short duration conflicts, though the 21 tons worth of engine upgrade severely restricts armor and ammunition options. This mech is the heavier, missile based counterpart to the energy based [[Nova Cat]], with many of the same strengths and weaknesses.<ref>[http://trm.mektek.net/index_mechs.htm MechWarrior4 - Technical Reference Manual]</ref>
|Weaknesses=The center torso is a tempting target but lacks any weaponry, concentrate firepower on arms to severely degrade it's offensive capabilities. Unlike the [[Nova Cat]], removal of both arms does not render the chassis completely harmless, don't allow a damaged Longbow to linger on the battlefield unchallenged. Small, fast mechs such as the [[Raven]] excel at disrupting the operational effectiveness of such units, and many are configured with no secondary weaponry, making them easy prey.
