It has both deadly power and adaptability, making it a dangerous addition to Steiner forces. |Strengths=A heavily armed and armored Assault chassis, Hauptmann excels in the defensive role. It makes an extremely stable gun platform due to its ability to carry [[Advanced Gyro]]s. This specialized equipment allows steady fire control and high accuracy even when being engaged by enemy units. As such it is very useful for targeting missile units from a distance. Combined with close range weapons, it is more easily able to exploit weakened armor on opponents, as aiming is more stable under fire. One of few mechs able to deploy the [[Heavy Gauss Rifle]], giving it exceptional mid-range punch. Fast units can intercept and engage it at close range, where its lack of agility can be exploited. Hauptmann is a serious direct fire threat to missile, and other fire support operations. Lack of a comprehensive equipment suite hinders the chassis' adaptability and makes it easier to track. Often seen in ballistic heavy configurations due to its [[Heavy Gauss Rifle]] capability, targeting the cockpit area can damage the shoulder mounted gun pod, though this is well protected by internal armor.
