{{InfoBoxBattleMech |imagedropdown=File:Diemos.png |name=Deimos |release=MekPak 2 |tech=Clan |class=Assault |mass=85 Tons |chassis=Standard |armortons=15.5 tons |armor=Ferro Fibrous |heat sinks=0 |speed=70.01 |jumpjets=No |armament=*6x[[CUAC2]]s *2x[[CLRM15]]s *2x[[Medium Laser]]s |Electronics=*[[LAMS]] |cost=C-bills }} {{Mech Description |Description=A new 85 ton Mech from Clan Snow Raven. Has average speed for a Mech its size and good armor. It is designed to carry a mix of different weapons for flexibility. |Strengths=Able to configure a wide variety of weapons due to the inclusion of [[Weapon Hardpoint|Omni]] slots, the Deimos is particularly suited to mission specific optimization. Primarily designed as a long range support unit, its [[Beagle Active Probe]] and [[Enhanced Optics]] allow effective long range target acquisition and engagement. At 60 Kp/h, the maximum base speed is acceptable for most fire support missions, and extensive upgrades are available for the creation of a rapid deployment support unit. The 3 slot missile racks provide an excellent secondary capacity, and when combined with missile using the arm mounted [[Weapon Hardpoint|Omni]] slots, can create a dangerous missile support unit. Also useful as a long range sniper or counter missile unit when outfitted with fast trajectory ballistic, or long range energy weapons.<ref>[http://trm.mektek.net/index_mechs.htm TRM4 Reference Site]</ref> |Weaknesses=28 total tons are required to boost the speed to maximum levels and this option results in far less offensive capability due to the ever present tonnage concerns of the chassis. With 22 available weapons slots on a chassis of limited tonnage, many of the weapons slots will often be unused due to engine, heat sink and armor upgrades. The left and right torso slots will most often be sacrificed to increase firepower in the arms and missile racks, as these allow the configuration of the heaviest weaponry. The arms, with their extremely long barrels, are particularly vulnerable to counter fire. Removing them will result in a severe degradation of the units capabilities. Likewise, the missile racks are highly exposed and can be easily targeted as the Deimos crests high ground in an attempt to engage. When fully configured electronically, the Deimos is vulnerable to rapid acquisition and tracking by long range missiles.<ref>[http://trm.mektek.net/index_mechs.htm TRM4 Reference Site]</ref> |Acceleration=7.00 |Best Acceleration=11.81 m/sec [[Gargoyle]] |Worst Acceleration=2 m/sec [[Behemoth]]\[[Behemoth II]] |Deceleration=9.46 |Best Deceleration=17.71 m/sec [[Gargoyle]] |Worst Deceleration=2.5 m/sec [[Behemoth]]\[[Behemoth II]] |Turn Rate=0.39 |Best Turn Rate=0.44 º/sec |Worst Turn Rate=0.26 º/sec [[Behemoth]]\[[Behemoth II]] |Twist Speed=50 |Best Twist Speed=70 º/sec [[Gargoyle]] |Worst Twist Speed=30 º/sec [[Behemoth]]\[[Behemoth II]] |Elevation=40 |Best Elevation=50º [[Annihilator]] |Worst Elevation=30º |Heat Capacity=65.3 |Best Heat Capacity=74.3 [[Annihilator]] |Worst Heat Capacity=53.7 [[Awesome]] |Torso Twist=100 |Best Torso Twist=135º [[Battlemaster]]\[[Battlemaster IIC]] |Worst Torso Twist=80º |Damage Multiplier=1.19 |Best Damage Multiplier=1.19 [[Deimos]] |Worst Damage Multiplier=1.12 |Kill Bonus=260 |Best Kill Bonus=260 |Worst Kill Bonus=260 |Max Armor=510 |Best Max Armor=510 points |Worst Max Armor=501 points |Free Tonnage=66.1 |Best Free Tonnage=68.6 tons [[Battlemaster IIC]] |Worst Free Tonnage=63.6 tons |base speed=60.0 |1st upgrade=1.0 |1st speed=65.0 |2nd upgrade=3.0 |2nd speed=70.01 |3rd upgrade=6.0 |3rd speed=75.01 |4th upgrade=10.0 |4th speed=80.02 |5th upgrade=15.0 |5th speed=85.02 |6th upgrade=21.0 |6th speed=90.02 |7th upgrade=28.0 |7th speed=95.03 |final upgrade=28.0 |top speed=95.03 |engine size=Large |increments=5 |Second Mech Picture Link=deimosslots.jpg |Left Arm Slots=2 Slot [[Weapon Hardpoint|Ballistic]]<br>2 Slot [[Weapon Hardpoint|Energy]]<br>2 Slot [[Weapon Hardpoint|Direct Fire]] |Right Arm Slots=2 Slot [[Weapon Hardpoint|Ballistic]]<br>2 Slot [[Weapon Hardpoint|Energy]]<br>2 Slot [[Weapon Hardpoint|Direct Fire]] |Left Torso Slots=1 Slot [[Weapon Hardpoint|Ballistic]]<br>1 Slot [[Weapon Hardpoint|Energy]] |Right Torso Slots=1 Slot [[Weapon Hardpoint|Ballistic]]<br>1 Slot [[Weapon Hardpoint|Energy]] |Special 1 Slots=3 Slot [[Weapon Hardpoint|Missile]] |Special 2 Slots=3 Slot [[Weapon Hardpoint|Missile]] |ECM=No |BAP=Yes |Jump Jets=No |LAMS=Yes |Enhanced Optics=Yes |IFF Jammer=No |Advanced Gyro=No |Notes=The Deimos was officially canonized in the 3055 Supplemental TRO: With the release of the Catalyst Game Lab's Technical Readout: 3085 Supplemental (Buy here ), one of our most prized custom MekTek mechs, the Deimos, featured in our Mechwarrior4 MekPak expansions, as well as our builds of the Tesla II cockpit's Mechwarrior4: Firestorm has officially been cannonized by the the BattleTech intellectual property licensee Catalyst Game Labs. While reference of MekTek's authorship of the Deimos and heavy involvement by Virtual World Entertainment is devoid officially from Catalyst Game Labs announcement, we felt it would be nice to tell the story of the Deimos from our point of view, the mech that was designed and modeled by US Marine and MekTek staff member Zakua. Zak used his real life military expertise to design this futuristic assault mech for our MekPak expansions which can be seen in our Mechwarrior4 Free Release. Since Zak's last deployment to Iraq, several years ago, he has been missing in action since 2005. Wherever Zak is, I am sure he would be proud to see his design featured in the TRO 3085. This Christmas we would like to ask our community to please take a moment to honour our fallen soldiers and pay respect to our own missing in action US Marine, Zak.<ref>[http://www.mektek.net/index.php?ind=news&op=news_show_single&ide=1189 Mektek.net]</ref> |Gallery1=Post-29-1099431013.jpg |Gallery1 Description=By BullsEye and DeadSet |Gallery2=Post-278-1292513779.jpg |Gallery2 Description=TRO 3085 Supplemental |Gallery3=Post-278-1292513975.jpg |Battletech Lore=Initially designed by Clan Snow Raven engineers as a breakthrough in BattleMech design philosophies, the Deimos takes its name from the project of the same name which resulted in the first faster-than-light (FTL) drive. To provide ample protection, the Deimos is built upon a space-saving standard internal structure with fifteen and a half tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor. At its heart, a massive 350 XL engine allows for a top speed of just over 70 km/h, making the 'Mech both one of fastest and most well-armored for its weight. Additionally, while not present on the chassis, the Deimos allows for the installation of jump jets as well as an Active Probe for long-range configurations. While heralded at first as a modern marvel, a critical design flaw within the Deimos internal structure cropped up during production; this would severely limit the size of weaponry that could be installed, hurting its potential.<ref>[http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Deimos Sarna.net article on the Deimos]</ref> |Tech Category=Clan BattleMechs |Weight Category=Assault BattleMechs |Tonnage Category=85 |cost=C-bills }}
