== Radar Modes == With the addition of Advanced Radar there are now four radar modes available for multiplayer. Simple Radar is the most commonly played type of radar mode, and Team Only & No Radar uses many of the same rules as simple radar in regard to Equipment. Advanced Radar introduces new rules for radar and equipment to multiplayer games. ===Simple Radar=== <div id="Simple Radar">Simple Radar</div> is the most commonly played radar mode and has been since the days of MW4:Vengeance. ====Radar Ranges Table==== Here is a chart of how 'Mechs with various types of equipment along with passive and active sensors will detect each other. On the left is a list of possible radar statuses and equipment that can be found on your mech. Once you find your radar mode and equipment status, the row to the right will list the radar ranges that you will detect other mechs with various modes of radar and equipment status. *Note: A passive mech with ECM will not be harder to detect than a non-ECM equipped passive mech. Going passive radar effectively turns ECM and BAP off. <table align="center" border="0" cellspacing="2" cellpadding="2"> <tr> <td></td> <td><center>Enemy Mech Is:</center></td> </tr> <tr> <td><center> Your<br> Mech<br> is:<br> </center> </td> <td> <table width="100%" border="1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2"> <tr width="16%"> <td width="14%" bgcolor="#D4DEE9"></td> <td width="14%"><center>Shutdown</center></td> <td width="14%"><center>Passive</center></td> <td width="14%"><center>Active</center></td> <td width="14%"><center>Active w/ECM</center></td> <td width="14%"><center>Active w/BAP</center></td> <td width="14%"><center>Active w/ECM & BAP</center></td> </tr> <tr> <td><center>Shutdown</center></td> <td bgcolor="#D4DEE9"><center>0M</center></td> <td><center>0M</center></td> <td><center>0M</center></td> <td><center>0M</center></td> <td><center>100M</center></td> <td><center>100M</center></td> </tr> <tr> <td><center>Passive</center></td> <td><center>0M</center></td> <td bgcolor="#D4DEE9"><center>0M</center></td> <td><center>250M</center></td> <td><center>100M</center></td> <td><center>250M</center></td> <td><center>100M</center></td> </tr> <tr> <td><center>Active</center></td> <td><center>0M</center></td> <td><center>500M</center></td> <td bgcolor="#D4DEE9"><center>1000M</center></td> <td><center>500M</center></td> <td><center>1000M</center></td> <td><center>500M</center></td> </tr> <tr> <td><center>Active w/ECM</center></td> <td><center>0M</center></td> <td><center>500M</center></td> <td><center>1000M</center></td> <td bgcolor="#D4DEE9"><center>500M</center></td> <td><center>1000M</center></td> <td><center>500M</center></td> </tr> <tr> <td><center>Active w/BAP</center></td> <td><center>100M</center></td> <td><center>600M</center></td> <td><center>1200M</center></td> <td><center>800M</center></td> <td bgcolor="#D4DEE9"><center>1200M</center></td> <td><center>800M</center></td> </tr> <tr> <td><center>Active w/BAP & ECM</center></td> <td><center>100M</center></td> <td><center>600M</center></td> <td><center>1200M</center></td> <td><center>800M</center></td> <td><center>1200M</center></td> <td bgcolor="#D4DEE9"><center>800M</center></td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table> ===Team Only Radar=== <div id="Team Only Radar">Team Only Radar</div> is a radar mode that allows you to see friendly units on radar the same way you would in Simple Radar. However, enemy units will never appear on radar unless you specifically target them with your "select target under reticule" button. The default button is "Q" and will often be referred to as "Q locking" someone. Once you Q lock someone, your radar will remain locked on your target like it would in simple mode until either the target moves out of range or you select a new target. In Team Only Radar, ECM is less valuable than it is in Simple Radar and can allow a mech like a missile boat that only mounts BAP to be much more effective than it other wise would since it is harder to detect. ECM will be a bit helpful in that it will prevent people at long range from being able to Q lock you. *Note: If you suspect that you have been Q locked on by an enemy unit, you can try to break their lock by moving out of their radar range, going passive if your more than 500 meters away (600 if they have BAP), or simple shutting down for a second. ===No Radar=== <div id="No Radar">No Radar</div>, like Team Only Radar, prevents you from being able to detect enemy units on radar. However, in No Radar games, you cannot detect friendly units on radar easily either. Q locking will still work on enemy units like in Team Only Radar, but can also be used to lock onto a friendly unit. This can be useful in keeping a group of friendly units together without requiring the following mechs to constantly keep visual contact with the friendly lead unit. ===Advanced Radar=== <div id="Advanced Radar">Advanced Radar</div> test
